Viaplay expert Jussi Jokinen recalled a moment during the match between Finland and Latvia at the World Championships in the studio related to Mikael Granlund and his legendary lacrosse goal.

Jokinen and Granlund both represented the Lions at the 2016 World Championships. It had been five years since Granlund’s lacrosse goal, which the Finnish team also wanted to celebrate. However, Granlund was not enthusiastic about the feat.

– Ten years ago it was the five-year anniversary of Granlund’s lacrosse goal. He doesn’t want to talk about it at all, as it has become such a big deal. Mikko Koivu was the captain and I was the assistant captain, so we brought a cake and celebrated the five-year anniversary of the lacrosse goal. Mikke wasn’t exactly happy about it, but it was a fun thing for the team, Jokinen laughed.

It has now been 15 years since the lacrosse goal seen in 2011.

“Ei ollut Mikke ihan tyytyväinen”

Legendaarisesta ilmaveivistä tulee kuluneeksi 15 vuotta. Jussi Jokisella oli pienoinen tarina liittyen ilmaveiviin ja MM-kisoihin. 🎂😅
