The return of HIFK’s top center Jori Lehterä to action after a long sick leave is approaching.

HIFK, traveling to the traditional Spengler Cup, has announced the veteran forward’s participation in the tournament team. The tournament kicks off on St. Stephen’s Day in Switzerland. Lehterä is expected to return to the lineup in January.

Lehterä was last seen in HIFK’s playing lineup on October 3rd in a match against JYP. The 38-year-old former NHL forward has played nine Liiga games this season, with stats of 0+4. Last season, the skilled player collected 59 points with 7+52 in 51 regular season games.
