Joakim Kemell was sent to the AHL – fans completely reject it: “I am tired of this”
Joakim Kemell, 21, who started the season with the Nashville Predators’ NHL roster, has been reassigned to the AHL after playing in only two of his team’s first four regular season games.
The Finnish player, who logged 12:22 and 9:46 minutes of ice time in the two games he played, received the farm assignment with shock among fans.
– I don’t understand this move at all. These young players need to get playing time. I’m tired of the old guys taking ice time from the young ones, just like last season. Can we not repeat the same mistake again, one fan criticized on X.
Several fans would have preferred to see Kemell in the NHL roster instead of the more experienced Tyson Jost.
– What a pathetic move! Are you really telling me that Jost deserves to be on the team instead of Kemell? another fan asked.
– At this rate, we will never develop our young forwards, a third added.
The Predators selected Kemell with the 17th overall pick in the first round in the summer of 2022. The winger, who is starting his third season in North America, has so far played only four NHL games. In the AHL, Kemell has tallied 94 points with 41 goals and 53 assists in 146 games.
