The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has given Pittsburgh Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin a five-game suspension for slashing. Malkin will not receive pay during his suspension.
Malkin completely lost his temper in the team’s previous game against the Buffalo Sabres. He slashed Rasmus Dahlin in the head with a stick in a scythe-like motion.
Malkin was ejected from the game after his stunt.
