Jesse Puljujärvi criticized his performance at the EHT: “It’s not f*cking enough”
TAMPERE. The most followed player of the Lions in the Finnish EHT tournament was Jesse Puljujärvi, who made a return to the national team after a break.
The “Pulju” who performed manfully throughout the tournament ended up with a stats line of 0+1 in three games. Head coach Antti Pennanen lamented Puljujärvi’s bad luck in terms of efficiency after the Sweden game and highlighted him as one of the successes of the tournament.
The 27-year-old fan favorite did not share the same view as the head coach at all.
– It wasn’t my best. I remember when I was in this tournament five years ago, it was a bit the same. I would like to be better. A hell of a lot better, Puljujärvi criticized himself.
– The goal was to play good hockey and be strong, Puljujärvi stated and gave himself a school grade of six or seven.
Head coach Pennanen praised Puljujärvi’s physical presence above all. The forward himself was also expecting the missing efficiency from himself.
– The criteria are high. I wasn’t satisfied. I managed to open it a bit in the third period against Sweden, but half a period isn’t enough, the forward continued his self-criticism.
The Lions’ next EHT challenge is scheduled for December 11-14, when the EHT caravan moves to Switzerland.
