Jaromír Jágr: big turn!

Jaromír Jágr, 54, his playing career seems to be nearing its end. The Czech legend has not participated in the Kladno Knights’ training camp and has not played in the team’s first three preseason games.

Last season, Jágr was still involved in Kladno’s practices and games. Now the situation is different, although his name still appears on the club’s official A-team player list. He has not made an official decision to retire.

Jágr mentioned back in February during an Instagram live broadcast that a return to the rink may not be seen anymore.

– Fans will not see me anymore. A miracle would have to happen. God would have to come into me and make me 15 years younger. I go skating from time to time… I still keep myself in shape, but I don’t train as if I were going to play, Jágr said according to Hokej.cz.

The Czech media iSport also wrote in August about Jágr’s situation and highlighted that he has not been involved in Kladno’s preparations.

Last season was short

Jágr played only six games in the 2025–26 season. He recorded one assist and did not score any goals.

His last competitive match may remain the away game against Bílí Tygři Liberec played on December 21, 2025. Kladno lost the match 1–4.

The only point of the season came on October 31, when Jágr assisted Adam Bareš on a power-play goal in Kladno’s 3–8 loss to Dynamo Pardubice.

Jágr’s agent Jaroslav Zidek previously stated that the 2024–25 season was supposed to be Jágr’s last. However, he decided to continue last summer.

Jágr has played an impressive 38 seasons in his professional career. He has accumulated 2,397 points from 2,255 regular season games: 961 goals and 1,436 assists.

If Jágr does not return to the rink, his last season will thus remain the 38th professional season.
