Buffalo Sabres’ GM Jarmo Kekäläinen has signed his first significant contract with his new team.
Kekäläinen has secured forward Josh Doan, 23, to a seven-year extension. The average annual salary of the contract is $6.95 million, with a total value of $48.65 million.
Doan has made his breakthrough in the NHL this season, securing a regular spot in Buffalo’s lineup. The American forward has recorded excellent stats of 15+20=35 in 49 games this season.
Last summer, Doan was traded to Buffalo from Utah Mammoth along with defenseman Michael Kesselring. Star forward JJ Peterka went the other way.
