Sidney Crosby had to leave the Pittsburgh Penguins game against the Ottawa Senators due to a lower body injury. Head coach Dan Muse was not yet able to assess the severity of the superstar forward’s injury after the game.
Crosby had recently returned to the ice after nearly a month and a half off due to a lower body injury sustained during the Olympics.
During his return, he managed to play only five games. This season, Crosby has scored 28 goals and provided 36 assists in 61 games, totaling 64 points.
The Ottawa game ended with Pittsburgh winning 4–3 in a shootout. The Penguins remain firmly in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference, but Crosby’s absence could significantly complicate the team’s success for the remainder of the season.
