SaiPa’s silver spring goalkeeper Michael Hutchinson has decided to end his playing career.

The 36-year-old Canadian played his only season in Europe in Lappeenranta. He guarded SaiPa’s goal in the previous season in 24 Liiga matches, achieving a save percentage of 88.6.

Before moving to SaiPa, Hutchinson played a total of 154 regular season games in the NHL. During eleven seasons, he represented eight different NHL teams.

After his playing career, Hutchinson has moved into coaching. He offers goaltending coaching under his own name and also works as a goaltending consultant.
