Two-time Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers are giving up on this season’s playoff hopes and preparing to be sellers at the trade deadline. TSN’s reporter Pierre LeBrun confirmed on X that the team is listening to offers for star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.
The 37-year-old Bobrovsky has played in Florida for seven seasons, won two Stanley Cups, and has a contract with a $10 million annual salary that runs through this season. He can block a trade to 16 teams, giving him leverage in potential deals.
Playing without their captain Aleksander Barkov, the Panthers lost to the New Jersey Devils last night 1–5. The team is currently third from the bottom in the Eastern Conference, and they are nine points away from the playoff line.
According to LeBrun, all Panthers players whose contracts expire this season are available for trade. Besides Bobrovsky, the list includes A.J. Greer, Tomas Nosek, and Jeff Petry.
