The Minnesota Wild may very well have made the best NHL contract last summer. And this is not about the Kirill Kaprizov mega deal.
Wild signed a one-season contract worth 800,000 dollars with forward Marcus Johansson. The NHL minimum salary is 750,000 dollars, so the Swedish forward couldn’t have been acquired for much less.
Operating on a small salary, Johansson is having the best season of his career. He has recorded 15 points with 6 goals and 9 assists in 18 games, on pace for 68 points.
Johansson has, for example, scored more points than Logan Cooley (8+6), Nikita Kucherov (7+7), and Tage Thompson (7+7).
