Is Rasmus Ristolainen being traded to a Canadian team? The rumor mill is heating up.
Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen has been mentioned in NHL trade rumors for quite some time. However, the Flyers have asked for such a high price for the Finnish defender that nothing has happened so far. Now, the trade rumors have gained more momentum.
It is very possible that Ristolainen will be traded to Canada.
– We know that the Ottawa Senators kicked the tires on every available right-shot defenseman at the last trade deadline, including Rasmus Ristolainen. Will they revisit the matter? Probably, NHL reporter Bruce Garrioch writes.
The Flyers, on the other hand, have clear ideas about what they would like from the Senators: reinforcement for their center position.
– According to an internal team source, the Flyers are interested in Ottawa center Shane Pinto, Dylan Cozens, and Ridly Greig – in that order, reports NHL reporter Anthony Di Marco at Daily FaceOff.
Ristolainen played 44 games for the Flyers this season, recording 1+13 points. His annual salary is 5.1 million dollars. The contract is valid for next season as well.
