Is Patrik Laine going to the Olympic team? IS: Joonas Donskoi has a strong opinion
Former NHL player and current Ilta-Sanomat NHL expert Joonas Donskoi shared his views on the Lions’ Olympic team for February.
Donskoi predicts that the Lions will make a tough decision regarding Patrik Laine. Laine did not make it into the Olympic team that Donskoi envisioned. This season, Laine has played only five games with the Montreal Canadiens, with stats of 0+1, before he got injured.
– Laine would not have made it into my team, even without the injury, Donskoi says.
– The movement is not enough. In such a top tournament, the pace of the game is insane, Donskoi states.
The Canadiens announced at the end of October that Laine would be sidelined for 3-4 months, so it is estimated that Laine will return to the ice in January-February. Therefore, Laine’s playing condition when the Olympic tournament arrives in February is currently a question mark.
