The Finnish national ice hockey team is making changes for the World Championship tournament in Switzerland.

Head coach Antti Pennanen confirmed to Ilta-Sanomat after Sunday’s practice that NHL star Mikael Granlund, who will join the team this week, will move directly to the first line. He will replace the injured Teuvo Teräväinen, who has to sit out from the lineup.

The first line is still led by captain Aleksander Barkov, and the third player in the line is Sakari Manninen.

This change also means that Jesse Puljujärvi will drop out of the first line. He managed to play well in the previous match against Hungary, scoring 2+1 in Finland’s 4–1 victory.

Granlund is expected to play his first game on Thursday against Latvia. The Lions’ tournament continues on Monday with a match against the United States.
