Image released: three fresh gold lions rapidly joining the army
The Lions won the World Championship gold on Sunday, and it was celebrated on Monday in Helsinki. Already on Wednesday, three fresh gold lions were seen in the army’s gray uniforms.
The Guard Jaeger Regiment published a picture on social media. In it, Urho Vaakanainen, Waltteri Merelä, and Janne Kuokkanen pose in front of the reconnaissance company.

For the entire trio, the fresh world championship was the first of their careers. Merelä played a full ten matches in the tournament, scoring 1+3 points. Kuokkanen was in the lineup for all matches, recording 1+2 points, but during the final tournament, he was the 13th forward without playing time. Vaakanainen, who missed a few games due to injury, recorded 0+2 points in seven matches.
