Ilves’ key player is enough: contract torn – UC: Moves to KooKoo’s ranks
Arttu Pelli continues his career at KooKoo, reports Urheilucast. The defender’s contract with Ilves was terminated last week at the player’s own request.
Urheilucast’s host Esko Seppänen says that Pelli returns to a familiar environment in Kouvola and gets a new opportunity in a significant role.
– Arttu Pelli is changing teams within Finland. The contract has been thrown into the shredder. Now he is no longer a free agent: Pelli’s career continues according to Urheilucast’s information under the guidance of Jouko Myrrä at KooKoo in Kouvola, Seppänen reported.
Seppänen sees potential in Pelli to become an effective defender in the Liiga.
– I predict that he will directly fill the shoes of Jimi Suomi. He has all the tools to be at least a 30-point defenseman again, he assessed.
The departure from Ilves did not come from the club, but from the player himself.
– It’s very interesting that he wants out of Ilves. The termination proposal initiated by the player was handled to completion, and then we move forward towards the next challenge, Seppänen said.
Last season, Pelli played 44 games for Ilves with stats of 4+11=15.
