IL: HIFK went on a raid in the league semi-final team – Olli Jokinen has a clear theme
HIFK is strengthening its defense with KooKoo’s Jesper Ahlroth, as reported in Iltalehti Lätkäpodissa.
The 23-year-old, 192-centimeter defenseman is moving to Helsinki after the season on a two-year contract.
– I received information that Ahlroth is leaving KooKoo after this season. He will come to IFK under the coaching of Olli Jokinen. He has signed a two-year contract in Helsinki, journalist Timo Kunnari reports in the podcast.
Ahlroth played 57 regular season games with KooKoo this season, achieving 5+16=21 points. He has been one of the key players in KooKoo’s defense.
– Again, when you quickly look at the man’s background, you see a 192-centimeter tall, i.e., a tall player coming to IFK. So, they are continuing this same line. Next season, IFK will have younger and very tall players to be trained by Jokinen and the rest of the coaching team, Kunnari explained.
KooKoo is currently continuing in the playoffs, where the team is playing in the semifinals against SaiPa. The Kouvola team leads the series 2-1.
