I-P: A revelation from the sports director of Vaasan Sport about player sales
Vaasan Sport has been in transfer rumors in recent days. Previously, the club’s sports director Ari-Pekka Pajuluoma denied that Sport would be selling its players. Now Pajuluoma has admitted in an interview with Ilkka-Pohjalainen that the team’s players are indeed for sale.
– We have informed a few agents that we have players for sale.
Pajuluoma did not specify which players are for sale.
A significant factor behind the decision to sell is that there are no relegation playoffs this season. Next season, however, clubs risk dropping to the B-league, so financial investments should be directed towards the next season.
– If we end up selling players during this season, everything will be done with the next season in mind. At the same time, however, we must also secure this season, Pajuluoma commented.
Vaasan Sport is firmly in the last place of the league. From 29 matches, the team has only collected 26 league points. The team ahead, Oulun Kärpät, is ten league points away.
