Florida Panthers’ superstar forward Matthew Tkachuk may be sidelined for a long time.
According to Sportsnet insider reporter Nick Kypreos, Tkachuk may need surgery that could keep the American out until the Christmas break.
Tkachuk was injured last spring during the 4 Nations tournament and was unable to finish the regular season. The power forward returned in the playoffs and was ultimately one of the key players for the Panthers’ championship team.
Last season, Tkachuk recorded 57 points in 52 regular-season games with 22 goals and 35 assists. In the playoffs, the forward scored 23 points in 23 games with 8 goals and 15 assists.
