Golden Lion has great news – the NHL is calling!
Finnish defenseman Ville Heinola, 25, has been called up to the Vegas Golden Knights’ NHL roster. The team summoned Heinola from AHL affiliate Henderson Silver Knights.
Heinola signed a one-year contract with Vegas last summer after moving from the Winnipeg Jets. He started the new season with the farm team in Henderson, where he has played three games and scored one goal.
Heinola represented Winnipeg for several years, but he did not make a breakthrough in the NHL. The Finnish defenseman played a total of 58 NHL games with the Jets, recording points of 1+11.
Heinola also celebrated a world championship last spring in the jersey of the Lions. He played ten games in the World Championship tournament, collecting points of 3+3.
