Florida Panthers: trusted man arrested – team reacts immediately
The equipment manager for the Florida Panthers and the United States national team, Thaddeus “Teddy” Richards, 43, has been arrested. This is reported by, among others, The Athletic.
According to the site, Richards is suspected of domestic violence and improper use of an emergency number.
According to The Athletic, Richards was arrested Friday evening in Coral Springs, Florida. He is currently being held in Broward County Jail in Fort Lauderdale.
The Panthers reacted quickly to Richards’ arrest on social media. The team announced that they have suspended Richards from all team activities during the investigation. Additionally, his access to team facilities has been restricted.
Richards has served as the Panthers’ equipment manager since the 2016-17 season. He worked with the United States national team last year in the 4 Nations tournament and this year in the Olympics and World Championships.
From 2013 to 2016, Richards was the equipment manager for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
