The Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers made a massive player trade that will surely be talked about for years to come. Ottawa’s captain and power forward Brady Tkachuk is moving to the Panthers in exchange for three 1st round draft picks and one 2nd round draft pick.

The draft picks received by Ottawa are:

  • Florida’s 1st round draft pick for summer 2026 (#9)
  • Tampa Bay’s 1st round draft pick for summer 2026 (#25)
  • Florida’s 1st round draft pick for summer 2029 (top 10 protected)
  • Florida’s 2nd round draft pick for summer 2027

In the recently concluded season, Tkachuk scored 59 points in 60 games for Ottawa, with a record of 22+37. His brother Matthew Tkachuk has been playing in Florida for several years now.

Brady Tkachuk’s annual salary is $8.25 million. He has two years left on his contract.

Florida has over $7 million in salary cap space left, but the team has no goaltenders at all.
