Florida landed two big deals in the NHL!

Florida Panthers has signed two major contract extensions.

The Panthers, winners of the Stanley Cup in the last two seasons, have secured an eight-year extension with defenseman Aaron Ekblad. Additionally, the team has inked a six-year extension with forward Brad Marchand.

Ekblad’s contract is valued at 48.8 million dollars, guaranteeing him annual earnings of 6.1 million dollars. Marchand’s deal is worth 31.5 million dollars, with an annual value of 5.25 million dollars.

Ekblad, 29, has represented the Panthers throughout his 11-season NHL career. He played 56 regular-season games last season with 3+30=33 points and 19 playoff games with 4+9=13 points. Ekblad earned 7.5 million dollars per season on his previous contract.

Marchand, 37, had spent his entire lengthy NHL career with the Boston Bruins before moving to the Panthers last season. He recorded 21+26=47 points in 61 games with the Bruins last season and 2+2 points in ten regular-season games with the Panthers, as well as 10+10=20 points in 23 playoff games.
