The Vancouver Canucks are in quite a goaltending crisis.

The Canucks announced late Tuesday that Finnish goalie Kevin Lankinen will miss this week’s road trip due to “personal reasons.” There is no further information yet on the timeline for the goaltender’s return.

At the same time, the Canucks stated that they have called up goaltender Jiri Patera to join the NHL team for the road trip.

The Canucks are in a tough spot, as the team’s number one goalie Thatcher Demko has also been sidelined due to injury.

Sharing the responsibility in the NHL with Patera this week is Belarusian Nikita Tolopilo.
