Ottawa Senators’ Finnish goalie Leevi Meriläinen continues his season in the AHL with the Belleville Senators team. Senators also announced that they have called up goalie Mads Sogaard to the NHL.
Meriläinen, who showcased sensational performances in the NHL last season, started this season as the presumed backup goalie for the Senators, but now the situation has turned upside down.
Meriläinen was seen in goal for the Senators last week when the Canadian team lost to the Buffalo Sabres with a crushing score of 4-8. Meriläinen’s save percentage in the game was 73.1.
