The Pittsburgh Penguins announce that they have placed Finnish forward Ville Koivunen on the injured list in the NHL.

Koivunen was injured in the game between the Penguins and the Nashville Predators in Stockholm. He played in the teams’ first meeting but was sidelined for the second game. The Penguins now report that Koivunen will be out for weeks due to a lower body injury.

Koivunen, 22, has played 11 NHL games this season with stats of 0+2. In the AHL, he has recorded impressive points of 4+7=11 in six games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
