Jani Nyman has responded to his farm assignment in a convincing manner. The 22-year-old forward is at the top of the AHL scoring list after two games.

Playing for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Nyman has already racked up 5+1 points at the start of the season. In the first game, he scored two goals and assisted one, but the team fell to the Ontario Reign after overtime 5-6.

The teams clashed again in the very next game. This time, Coachella was stronger with a score of 6–2, and Nyman took center stage by scoring a hat trick.

Before the season started, Nyman aimed for a spot on the Seattle Kraken’s NHL roster. He recorded 1+1 points in two preseason games, but ultimately the path led to the AHL.

Nyman has 40 regular season games worth of NHL experience. Last season, he played 28 games in Seattle with stats of 4+3, and the season before that, he played 12 games with 3+3 points.

Last season, Nyman also made a strong impact in the farm league. In the AHL regular season, 39 games produced 21+12=33 points, and in 12 playoff games, he scored 3+6 points.
