Justus Annunen had a good start in the World Championship as the goalie for the Lions, when Germany was defeated 3–1 on Friday.
Annunen made 16 saves in the game, but he will not be between the posts when the puck drops again at 17:20 on Saturday.
The Lions will face Hungary, and according to head coach Antti Pennanen, Joonas Korpisalo will start in goal, who was the backup in the Germany game.
In Annunen’s case, it is not an injury, but a regular rest shift.
The Finnish goalie trio is completed by Harri Säteri, but it now seems that the expected NHL reinforcements Annunen and Korpisalo will alternate in the goaltending duties.
