The teams that are currently competing most strongly for the NHL championship this season are in a fierce race for New York Rangers star forward Artemi Panarin.

The Rangers announced on Friday that they will not offer a new contract to the Russian player who is in his final contract season. The news has immediately sparked several inquiries about the situation of the 34-year-old talent.

A close insider reporter for the Rangers, Vincent Z. Mercogliano, has now published an interesting update regarding Panarin. According to the reporter, two teams are currently in a favorable position in the competition for the services of the talented winger.

– Panarin has declined to go into details about what will happen next, but according to our information, the two frontrunners in trade discussions are the Colorado Avalanche and the Washington Capitals, the reporter reveals.

Also in the competition are three NHL organizations that are very interesting from a Finnish perspective.

– The Dallas Stars and Carolina Hurricanes are other teams to keep an eye on. The Florida Panthers may also be an option, but the salary cap is becoming a problem there, Mercogliano lists.

The NHL trade deadline is on March 6. However, Panarin’s destination for the rest of the season is believed to be determined before the Olympic break.
