Evander Kane may make a drastic decision – now a surprising move is on the table
Evander Kane may be on his way to the KHL. According to Sport-Express reporter Mikhail Zislisin report, the Russian club Ak Bars Kazan is considering acquiring the 35-year-old Canadian forward.
Kane is currently a free agent. His last NHL season was spent with the Vancouver Canucks, where the forward appeared in 71 regular-season games. He accumulated 31 points, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists.
Kane earned $5.125 million per season on his previous contract.
Throughout his NHL career, Kane has played a total of 1001 regular-season games with the Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks.
In NHL regular-season games, Kane has totaled 648 points. Of those, 339 are goals and 309 are assists. Kane has played 97 games in the NHL playoffs and scored 55 points (32+23) in those games.
A potential move to Russia would not be Kane’s first encounter with the KHL. He already played during the lockout season of 2012–13 with Minsk Dynamo. At that time, Kane managed to appear in 12 KHL games and collected two points (1+1).
