Oulu’s Kärpät has set its sights on Kiekko-Espoo’s center Arttu Tuomaala. Urheilucastin reports that Esko Seppänen states that the Oulu club is strongly courting the 24-year-old forward to join their ranks.

The interest from Kärpät may not be one-sided. According to Seppänen, Tuomaala considers Oulu a desirable option and a potential next step in his career.

There is also an interesting detail related to Tuomaala’s potential transfer. The forward is a product of Kärpät’s own youth system, having left the Oulu club at a junior age to move to Kiekko-Espoo.

Since then, Tuomaala has played for the Espoo club for six Liiga seasons. Last season, the center recorded 34 points with 11 goals and 23 assists in 60 games.

This season, Tuomaala has continued his effective performances. He has scored five goals and collected a total of 13 points in 20 games.

Tuomaala also has experience with the Lions. He appeared in two games for the Finnish national team a couple of seasons ago.
