Elliotte Friedman revealed: Erik Haula on his way to a new NHL team
According to Sportsnet reporter Elliotte Friedman, Erik Haula may be moving to the Los Angeles Kings when the NHL free agent market opens on July 1.
Friedman shared this information on the The Game Nashville show, where he was asked about players in the free market.
– One name I heard is that Erik Haula might end up with the Kings, Friedman said.
Haula would bring experience, versatility, and additional options to the Kings’ center position. He has played in the NHL for 14 seasons and has represented seven different teams throughout his career.
Last season, Haula played 81 regular-season games with the Nashville Predators. He scored 14 goals and collected a total of 38 points. In his NHL career, the Porin-born center has played 840 games, scored 147 goals, and accumulated a total of 375 points.
The Kings’ center situation is changing, as Scott Laughton is leaving the team. This could open up space for an experienced player like Haula.
Estimates suggest that Haula’s next contract could be worth $3–4 million per season, with a length of 1–2 years.
The Los Angeles Kings have approximately $11 million in salary cap space available before the free agent market opens.
