Dylan Larkin got offers from two NHL giants – only one team left on his heels!
The trade saga surrounding NHL star center Dylan Larkin has taken a new turn. The Detroit Red Wings are said to have been shopping their long-time star player to other NHL teams throughout the summer.
Now, The Athletic‘s insider reporter Michael Russo reports that two notable options have already dropped out of the race. According to Russo, the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights have given up the possibility of acquiring Larkin.
This information is significant, as both NHL powerhouses were on Larkin’s short list of teams he would be willing to join.
Larkin’s options are now running low. According to Russo, the only team still interested in acquiring Larkin is the Minnesota Wild.
The Red Wings, on the other hand, have plenty of reasons to finalize their ex-captain’s trade before the new NHL season begins. Larkin has found himself in a difficult situation in Detroit and has faced strong criticism from fans. The team reacted earlier this summer to Larkin’s trade request by removing the captain’s “C” from the jersey of the star center who had led the team for six seasons.
The 29-year-old American has spent his entire NHL career in Detroit. Larkin has represented the Red Wings for 11 seasons.
