Vladimir Tarasenko, who has won two Stanley Cup championships in the NHL, is changing teams.
The Detroit Red Wings traded the 33-year-old veteran forward to the Minnesota Wild on Monday in exchange for future draft picks to be determined later.
Tarasenko, who has played over 800 regular-season games in his 14 seasons in the NHL, recorded 11 goals and 22 assists for a total of 33 points in 80 games last season. The Russian winger has one more season left on his two-year contract.
For the upcoming season, Tarasenko will earn $4.75 million. The forward won his championships with the St. Louis Blues and the Florida Panthers a year ago.
