Dallas superstar was courted by another NHL team – direct response
The Detroit Red Wings were eager to acquire the young superstar Wyatt Johnston from the Dallas Stars in a trade that would have sent Dylan Larkin to Dallas. However, Dallas refused to trade Johnston.
MLive.com reporter Ansar Khan reports that Detroit’s long-time superstar and captain Larkin has added Dallas to his list of teams he is willing to join. His list previously included the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, and Vegas Golden Knights.
Detroit has not received any interesting offers from Florida, Minnesota, or Vegas before. Although Larkin has now added Dallas to his list, his trade saga does not seem to be progressing anywhere for the time being. Detroit would like Johnston in return, but Dallas is not willing to part with their young gem.
Johnston, 23, has played four seasons in Dallas and has not missed a single game. Last season, he posted strong stats of 45+41=86 points in 82 games. Johnston’s contract, which guarantees him $8.4 million per season, runs through 2030.
