Crazy rumor: Seattle ready for quite a relocation bomb in the NHL – a big fish in the sights!
The Seattle Kraken may be ready to make a significant decision regarding Shane Wright. The center, drafted fourth in the 2022 NHL draft, has emerged in trade rumors as the team seeks to strengthen its offense.
NHL reporter David Pagnotta states that Seattle is listening to offers for Wright if a clear top-line player is available in return.
– I can tell you that the Seattle Kraken is open to trading Shane Wright. When you look at what they have been seeking, they are genuinely looking for a top 6 level forward, preferably someone who can play on the first line. The sense I’ve gotten is that Seattle is willing to package Wright as part of a deal to get such a player, Pagnotta says to Daily FaceOff.
According to Pagnotta, the young center has not been satisfied with his role. The 20-year-old Canadian center has played 49 games this season and has recorded 7+10=17 points.
– I don’t get the impression that Wright is particularly happy with his recent responsibilities. In the last game, his ice time was under ten minutes, Pagnotta reports.
Seattle is looking for a top-line forward on the trade market. Last summer, the team explored the situation of St. Louis Blues’ Jordan Kyrou. The 26-year-old winger has surpassed the 30-goal mark in the NHL in three different seasons.
According to Pagnotta, a player like Kyrou represents exactly the profile that the Kraken is currently seeking.
