The Ottawa Senators have signed a one-year contract with goaltender James Reimer, 37.

According to Sportsnet, the contract is one-way and guarantees the 37-year-old Canadian a total income of $850,000.

Reimer joined the Senators’ AHL team last week on a tryout contract and played one game with a save percentage of 78.6.

Before the start of the season, Reimer was briefly on a tryout with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Additionally, he played for Canada in two games at the Spengler Cup at the turn of the year. Otherwise, the experienced goaltender has been without a team.

In his NHL career, Reimer has played 525 regular-season games and 11 playoff games. He has represented not only the Toronto Maple Leafs but also the San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, and Buffalo Sabres.
