Edmonton Oilers’ Kasperi Kapanen holds the highest recorded skating speed in the NHL this season. Both teammate Connor McDavid and Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon are behind the Finn.

NHL Edge reports that Kapanen has reached a top speed of about 38.71 kilometers per hour early in the season. McDavid and MacKinnon share the next spot with a speed of 38.64 kilometers per hour.

Edmonton’s strong representation is also visible elsewhere on the list. Isaac Howard is in seventh place, meaning three Oilers players are among the top ten fastest.

Also included is Toronto Maple Leafs’ superstar rookie Gavin McKenna, whose top speed is about 37.56 kilometers per hour. This ties him for ninth place with Vegas Golden Knights’ Jack Eichel at the same speed.
