Connor McDavid open about Edmonton’s situation: “This is like a pillow fight”
The Edmonton Oilers’ performance has been weak lately. Out of their last six games, the team has lost four. Most recently, the Oilers were defeated by the Tampa Bay Lightning with a score of 2-5.
Although Edmonton has not been able to collect any points in the standings, the team’s position in the league table has not changed. Edmonton’s competitors have played just as poorly.
The level of the Pacific Division is really weak this season. The division is led by the Anaheim Ducks with 80 points. In no other division would that point total even place you in the top three.
Connor McDavid commented on Edmonton’s unusual situation after the latest loss.
– We are lucky to be in this division, as are many other teams. It’s like a pillow fight right now. Fortunately, we haven’t lost our positions, but we need to find ways to win games on the road, McDavid told the media.
Edmonton is in second place in its division, but in the overall NHL standings, the team is only in 18th place. There are many teams ahead that are not in playoff positions.
