Nearly 300 AHL games defender moves to the Liiga!
KooKoo has signed a contract for the remainder of the season with defender Devante Stephens, 29.
– Devante Stephens is an experienced professional who has always played a significant role in his team. He defends well and can make simple plays that advance the game with the puck. He brings more options to the coaching staff, especially in terms of defense, but is also active in the offensive direction, commented KooKoo’s sports director Antti Tuomenoksa in the club’s press release.
– Currently, the player is in North America, and we are waiting for the progress of his visa application process. Stephens will travel to Finland immediately once the application process is complete.
Last season, Stephens played in the ICEHL for EC Salzburg. In 43 regular season games, the left-shooting defender recorded 4+11=15 points.
For most of his career, Stephens has played in the AHL. Over the years, he has played 285 games in the farm league, scoring 21 goals and 70 points.
