TPS raises its super promise to the League – debuts alongside the golden lion
TPS’s 17-year-old super talent Paavo Fugleberg makes his debut in the Liiga on Wednesday, as the Turku team travels to face Kiekko-Espoo.
The young player has started the season impressively in the U20 team of the Turku club. Having just turned 17 in October, Fugleberg has scored an impressive 10+9=19 points in 14 games in the U20 SM series.
Born in 2009, the forward already got to showcase his skills in August with the TPS senior team in a practice match against Lukko. His official Liiga debut is set for today.
Fugleberg plays on TPS’s third line alongside gold lion Veli-Matti Savinainen and Otto Paajanen.
Fugleberg is also part of the team selected for the Young Lions’ national team tournament in November. Finland will compete in a five-nation tournament held in Nyköping, Sweden, from November 4 to 8.
Fugleberg will be eligible for the NHL draft only in the summer of 2028, so the young forward still has plenty of time to raise his stock in the eyes of NHL scouts.
