Columbus made a deal announcement – a veteran with over 600 NHL games signed
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed a one-year contract extension with forward Danton Heinen. The contract is two-way and is worth one million dollars.
Heinen, 31, was traded mid-season from the Pittsburgh Penguins to Columbus. He played 13 games in Pittsburgh, recording 1+1 points. During the remainder of the season, Heinen recorded 10 points (5+5) in 33 games with Columbus.
In the NHL, Heinen has played a total of 612 regular-season games (102+151=253) and 48 playoff games (6+7=13). In addition to Columbus and Pittsburgh, he has also represented the Boston Bruins, Anaheim Ducks, and Vancouver Canucks. Originally, Heinen was a 4th round draft pick by Boston in 2014.
In his best NHL season, 2017-18, Heinen recorded 47 points with the Boston Bruins.
