Colorado is making waves! Longtime power forward sold

The Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets have made a trade in the NHL.
Colorado has traded power forward Valeri Nitshushkin to Columbus. In return, Colorado receives a 2nd round draft pick (2026), a 3rd round draft pick (2027), and a 5th round draft pick (2028).
Nitshushkin has been a core player for Colorado for a long time. He represented the team for seven consecutive seasons and celebrated a championship in 2022.
In the recently concluded season, Nitshushkin recorded 49 points in 72 games with 17 goals and 32 assists.
Nitshushkin’s annual salary is $6.125 million. Colorado now has just under $11 million in salary cap space.
