The Colorado Avalanche and Pittsburgh Penguins have executed a trade involving two players and one draft pick in the NHL on Tuesday.

The Avalanche receives in the trade Finnish forward Valtteri Puustinen, who is in the final year of his contract, along with a 7th round draft pick for the upcoming summer. Heading the other way is defenseman Ilja Solovjov.

Puustinen, 26, was in his fifth season with the Penguins organization. In the current season, the winger has played 35 games in the AHL with stats of 7+19=26. In the NHL, Puustinen has played 66 games during his North American years with stats of 7+17=24.

Solovjov has played 16 NHL games for the Avalanche this season with stats of 1+2=3. He joins the Avs this season from the Calgary Flames.
