Colorado Avalanche is now backed against the wall – Vegas is close to a tough trick
Vegas Golden Knights heads into their two home games with a 2–0 lead in the series after defeating the Colorado Avalanche in the second away game as well.
John Tortorella’s knights secured a second grip on the Stanley Cup final spot with a 3–1 victory. Ivan Barbašov scored two goals and Jack Eichel one, as Vegas made a comeback from behind to win in the third period.
The Avalanche played their second game of the conference finals without the injured Cale Makar, and now it could get urgent. This was also known by fourth-line forward Logan O’Connor after the game.
– In the playoffs, it doesn’t matter who deserves to win, but who is the winner. This must be forgotten, and we have to come back hungrier because we need to win the next game, no question about it, O’Connor said according to The Athletic.
Seeking a solution
Vegas is now in an excellent position as they seek a third and possibly fourth victory in their home arena.
– I thought they would have a strong drive after the first game and come hard, but we responded well to that, defenseman Noah Hanifin commented.
The stick did not tremble at the decisive moments.
– We feel at home in the third periods. Throughout the season, we have been able to come back from behind, Hanifin said.
The next game of the series will be played between Sunday and Monday night at 3 AM Finnish time.
