Bold solution! NHL superstar said no to a 120 million dollar contract offer
The contract negotiations between the Dallas Stars and forward Jason Robertson are in a serious deadlock. Dallas does not want to pay Robertson more than Mikko Rantanen, while the forward naturally wants a higher salary.
The situation has progressed to the point where Dallas has started shopping Robertson. One of the interested teams is the Seattle Kraken. Or at least it was.
NHL reporter Elliotte Friedman reports that Dallas and Seattle had already reached an agreement on the compensation for Robertson’s trade. As part of the trade, Seattle offered Robertson an eight-year contract worth 15 million dollars per year. The total value of the contract was a staggering 120 million dollars.
However, Robertson said no to the offer. The salary was sufficient, but he is not interested in playing in Seattle.
Friedman does not know exactly what Dallas would have received in the trade. One part would have been Seattle’s 1st round draft pick for the draft event taking place on Saturday night.
In the recently concluded season, Robertson was Dallas’s most effective player. He scored 96 points with 45 goals and 51 assists in 82 games.
