Big decision from the league club – Jouko Myrrä’s fate has been revealed!
Jouko Myrrä will continue at the helm of KooKoo for the next two seasons.
The Kouvola club announces that it has secured its entire coaching team for the 2026-27 season. In addition to Myrrä, contract extensions were granted to Tuukka Poikonen, Manu Lähteenmäki, Jarkko Rissanen, and Matti Ranta.
– Utilizing the options in the contracts was clear and justified. The entire coaching team has done excellent work in the team’s daily operations, and under the leadership of the coaching team, we want to continue strong development moving forward, KooKoo’s sports director Antti Tuomenoksa states in the club’s announcement.
Myrrä has been working at the helm of KooKoo since spring 2024. Prior to that, he served as the head coach of Ilves from 2019 to 2022.
KooKoo is currently in ninth place in the Liiga. Last season, the Kouvola club finished sixth in the regular season but was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
