Aleksander Barkov has new information regarding his injury. Reporter Armando Velez reports on X that the captain of the Florida Panthers will be sidelined for 10–12 weeks due to his injury.

According to the estimate, Barkov’s return to the ice would be timed for late December.

Barkov managed to play only two games this season before his injury. He had to leave Thursday’s game against the San Jose Sharks in the second period after falling during a battle situation.

Florida reacted to the situation by placing Barkov on the long-term injured reserve (LTIR) list. The decision meant at least ten games and 24 days of absence, but there was no information at that time about the exact recovery time for the injury.

The new injury is a disappointing setback for Barkov, especially considering last season’s events. He was sidelined for the entire NHL season and was only able to return to action during the spring World Championships.

Just been told that Aleksander Barkov’s injury will sideline him in the range of 10-12 weeks.

That timeline would have him returning around Christmas/New Years.
