Auston Matthews’ season ended prematurely due to a knee injury. The injury occurred when Anaheim Ducks defenseman Radko Gudas delivered a knee-on-knee hit to the superstar.

For his kneeing incident, Gudas received a five-game suspension. Many have deemed the punishment given to the Czech defenseman too lenient.

One of the critics of the disciplinary action is Matthews’ agent Judd Moldaver.

– Considering the clear severity of the act, I am disappointed and shocked that the league would make such a decision. A phone hearing and five games is ridiculous and absurd. While the process is defined in the collective bargaining agreement, this kind of discipline is reckless and laughable, Moldaver blasts in an interview with Elliotte Friedman.

– This decision will lead to a loss of trust in the disciplinary process. Players and fans deserve better. Discipline should be enforced with suspensions.
