Artturi Lehkonen admires Gabriel Landeskog’s super abilities: “One of the best in the league”
The Colorado Avalanche received a long-awaited reinforcement at the end of last season when captain Gabriel Landeskog, who had been out for three seasons, made a surprising return to the active roster during the team’s five playoff games.
The Avalanche’s Finnish star Artturi Lehkonen urges NHL fans to pay attention to one particular area of Landeskog’s expertise next season.
– If hockey people watch his games, they should pay attention to how he forechecks. How he throws the puck to the boards and chases after the defenders. Even if a defender gets the first touch on the puck, he often comes out of there with the puck.
– In my opinion, he is one of the best forecheckers in the league. Somehow he just comes out of that corner with the puck, Lehkonen gives a tip to NHL followers on the Kalju Corner podcast.
Also, Valeri Nichushkin, who has struggled with personal issues throughout his career, receives special mention from Lehkonen.
– Hopefully, he stays healthy. He is an absolutely fantastic player when he can play, and he’s not broken or has any other (off-ice issues). One of the best power forwards in this league, Lehkonen praises.
